An exciting opportunity for a driven Network DevOps Engineer to join a leading multinational organisation's Digital Excellence function. Ideal candidates will be passionate about modernising network management, driving automation initiatives, and upskilling others. You will contribute to building an automated network infrastructure that underpins critical business systems and supports rapidly evolving organisational needs.

The Opportunity

Join a forward-thinking team as a Network DevOps Engineer within a Digital Networks function. While the current team is highly experienced in core network engineering and automation, they are seeking a software-focused specialist to complement existing capabilities and help mature development practices.

You will play a key role in transitioning network infrastructure towards a more software-driven operating model by applying established software engineering practices such as version control, structured testing, and modular software design. You will be responsible for building and maintaining the software, tools, and pipelines used to manage both physical and virtual infrastructure, ensuring the network remains reliable, scalable, and maintainable through code.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain production-grade software and custom tools, primarily in Python, to manage network infrastructure at scale.
  • Champion software engineering best practices, including code reviews, unit testing, and the development of clean, maintainable code.
  • Establish and implement an automated software testing strategy, including the evaluation and selection of appropriate tools and frameworks.
  • Manage and extend the network Source of Truth through the development of custom data models, plugins, and state-driven automation jobs.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the testing and deployment of network changes.
  • Collaborate on the development of Ansible playbooks and roles for network configuration, applying software development principles to improve reliability and maintainability.
  • Support and mentor team members to help develop their software engineering capabilities.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge network technologies and automation solutions, making a direct impact on how enterprise network infrastructure is managed and evolved.

If you're looking to leverage your technical expertise within an innovative and diverse multinational environment, this could be an excellent next step in your career.
