The Role Are you an experienced Passive Fire Engineer or Supervisor looking to take the next step in your career?
We are currently recruiting for a Passive Fire Supervisor to join a growing Passive Fire Protection division. The business has seen significant demand from its existing client base, as well as new enquiries, and is looking for an experienced professional to oversee the delivery of passive fire protection works across Bristol and the surrounding areas.
As Passive Fire Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating teams of engineers and subcontractors, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
You will also be expected to carry out inspections and quality checks, monitor progress, liaise with clients and ensure projects are delivered in accordance with current legislation and industry standards.
The company aims to complete as much work in-house as possible but also works with specialist subcontractors for areas such as fire doors and other specialist passive fire works.

As Passive Fire Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating teams of engineers and subcontractors, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
You will also be expected to carry out inspections and quality checks, monitor progress, liaise with clients and ensure projects are delivered in accordance with current legislation and industry standards.
The company aims to complete as much work in-house as possible but also works with specialist subcontractors for areas such as fire doors and other specialist passive fire works.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate teams of Passive Fire Engineers and subcontractors.
- Oversee the day-to-day delivery of passive fire protection works across multiple sites.
- Allocate work and ensure engineers have the correct materials, equipment and information to complete their jobs.
- Inspect and quality-check completed works to ensure they meet the required standards.
- Monitor project progress and ensure works are completed within agreed timescales.
- Carry out site inspections and identify any remedial works required.
- Ensure all works comply with relevant legislation, industry standards and company procedures.
- Liaise with clients, contractors and internal teams throughout projects.
- Provide technical guidance and support to engineers and subcontractors.
- Complete job reports, photographs and relevant project documentation using company systems.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure work is completed to the required standard.
- Assist with RAMS, toolbox talks and health & safety requirements.
- Identify any issues or delays and proactively work to resolve them.
- Support the management team with project planning and resource allocation.
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship and customer service at all times.
- NVQ Level 2 in Passive Fire Protection.
- Minimum 3 years' experience within the passive fire sector.
- Experience with linear gap seals and fire stopping.
- Experience with structural encasement.
- Previous experience supervising or leading a team.
- Good understanding of passive fire protection standards and requirements.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to work across Bristol and surrounding areas.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Good attention to detail and a strong focus on quality.
- Ability to confidently liaise with clients, engineers and subcontractors.
- DBS clearance or willingness to obtain one.
- ASFP Level 1.
- SSSTS qualification.
- CSCS Card.
- Experience working with fire doors and other specialist passive fire protection systems.
- Experience using mobile apps or digital job management systems for recording works and quality control.
