Management Accountant - #2123582

Robert Half is working with newly acquired business in Avonmouth to appoint an experienced interim finance professional to join their team during a period of real change - the business is a recently acquired entity within a larger group, bringing new ownership, evolving processes and a group-wide ERP implementation.

• Day rate: up to £300 per day, dependent on experience
• Duration: 9-12 months
• Location: Avonmouth - 5 days onsite (some flexibility on start/finish times)
• Start: ASAP

The role

• Own full management reporting from trial balance through to P&L and balance sheet
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate/resolve open items, flagging issues to management
• Month-end variance analysis, commentary and management pack preparation, including attendance at manager meetings
• Prepare quarterly VAT returns ready for approval
• Prepare and comment on sales reporting
• Own the Fixed Asset Register and underlying process
• Support budget preparation
• Support data cleansing and project code mapping ahead of a group ERP go-live - includes historic investigation to ensure supplier/customer terms transfer correctly onto the new system

What we're looking for

• Qualified by experience - strong technical grounding across month-end, reconciliations and VAT
• Comfortable working with limited handover and getting stuck in from day one
• Confident managing multiple entities and intercompany processes
• Adaptable and process-minded - happy supporting an evolving finance function through change
