Citadel Source are pleased to be working exclusively with an established and growing services organisationbased in Bristol to recruit a Management Accountant into their finance team. Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a broad and varied position that combines core accounting responsibilities with forecasting, analytics, and process improvement. Offering a hybrid working pattern of three days in the office and two from home, this opportunity would suit an ambitious part-qualified accountant looking to develop their career within a supportive and forward-thinking finance function.

About you

You are a part-qualified accountant who enjoys balancing detailed financial control work with commercial analysis and business improvement initiatives. You have strong reconciliation skills, excellent attention to detail and enjoy working with data to provide meaningful insight. You are comfortable taking ownership of key financial processes, managing competing deadlines and working with stakeholders across the business. You are naturally curious, eager to learn and interested in how technology, automation and AI can improve finance processes.

As a Management Accountant, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Owning client money accounting processes and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and internal controls
  • Managing monthly balance sheet reconciliations across a range of control accounts
  • Investigating and resolving reconciliation discrepancies and aged balances
  • Processing and controlling client and office account payments in line with authorisation procedures
  • Reviewing payment requests and supporting documentation prior to release
  • Managing transfers between accounts and maintaining full audit trails
  • Calculating and reconciling commission payments and associated reporting
  • Monitoring aged debt, disbursements and recovery performance
  • Supporting bad debt provisioning and write-off recommendations
  • Producing and maintaining rolling cash collection forecasts
  • Analysing forecast accuracy and investigating collection variances
  • Supporting wider cash flow planning and working capital management activities
  • Building and maintaining reporting across debt, cash collections, commissions and financial controls
  • Using data and analytical tools to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities
  • Developing predictive reporting and early warning indicators around debt recovery and cash collection performance
  • Supporting automation and efficiency initiatives across the finance function

What the client is looking for

  • Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA, ACA or AAT qualified and actively studying towards a professional qualification
  • Strong experience with balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls
  • Excellent Excel skills including Lookups, Pivot Tables and working with large datasets
  • Experience working with transactional financial data and reporting
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to build and maintain forecasts or financial models
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage deadlines effectively
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence working with stakeholders across the business
  • A proactive attitude and desire to improve processes and ways of working
  • Experience handling client money, payments, bank reconciliations or working within a regulated environment would be advantageous
