Job Title: Private Client Tax Manager - International Team
Location: City of Bristol - hybrid working model
Salary: £52,000 - £60,000 (DOE) + benefits package!
The Role:
Here is an opportunity to join a dynamic Private Client tax team, and have the opportunity to deliver exceptional tax compliance and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of individuals, including clients with international issues, non-UK residents/long-term residents (LTRs), and high-net-worth (HNW) individuals. You will play a key role in advising on cross-border tax matters, helping clients navigate complex areas such as residency, overseas income, and offshore assets.
What to expect day-to-day:
- Managing a portfolio of private clients, including HNW individuals, clients with international matters, and some trusts
- Preparing and reviewing tax returns and supporting clients with their ongoing compliance obligations
- Drafting advice on areas including residence, the FIG regime, temporary repatriation facility (TRF) and international tax planning including IHT advice for LTRs/non-LTRs
- Advising clients on the tax treatment of overseas income and gains, including foreign investments and property
- Supporting clients with double tax relief claims and wider cross-border tax considerations
- Providing CGT advice relating to property, shares, and other assets for UK and non-UK resident individuals
- Assisting clients with offshore income, disclosures, and reporting requirements
- Building strong relationships with clients and providing practical, commercially focused advice
- Reviewing the work of junior team members and supporting their development through coaching and guidance
- Requesting, collating, and maintaining client information, particularly relating to overseas income and assets
- Maintaining direct contact with clients, HMRC, and professional advisers to deliver an excellent client experience
- Identifying opportunities to provide additional value to clients and collaborating with colleagues across the wider firm
About you:
- Previous experience in a personal tax compliance and advisory role, with exposure to international and private client matters
- CTA qualified (or equivalent), with strong technical tax knowledge
- Good understanding of residence, the FIG regime and TRF, and cross-border tax issues affecting individuals
- Experience preparing and reviewing tax returns involving foreign income, gains, or offshore matters
- Preferably experience dealing with offshore trusts, but not essential
- Confident managing client relationships and delivering advice in a clear and practical manner
- Able to balance competing priorities and manage deadlines effectively
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
- Professional, approachable, and able to build rapport with clients and colleagues alike
- Experience supporting and developing junior team members would be advantageous
