We are seeking an experienced and proactive IT Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of technology and business change initiatives across the organisation. This is a 14-month fixed-term contract.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, suppliers and delivery teams, you will take ownership of projects from initial conception through to implementation, business-as-usual handover and benefits realisation. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and aligned with strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities as the IT Project Manager
- Lead end-to-end project delivery across technology and business change initiatives, using Agile, Waterfall or hybrid approaches. Define scope, objectives, deliverables, plans, budgets and timelines, whilst coordinating teams and resources to maintain momentum and achieve agreed milestones.
- Drive effective project governance and control, proactively managing risks, issues, dependencies, budgets and change. Provide clear and accurate reporting to project sponsors and senior stakeholders, ensuring robust decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
- Build strong stakeholder and supplier relationships, working collaboratively with senior stakeholders, project sponsors, delivery teams and external partners. Manage expectations, facilitate effective communication and support informed decision-making at all levels.
- Deliver successful implementation and transition, ensuring projects are effectively implemented and handed over into business-as-usual operations. Coordinate operational readiness, training, documentation and benefits realisation activities.
- Support continuous improvement and transformation, identifying opportunities to improve processes, ways of working and project delivery effectiveness. Share knowledge, promote best practice and contribute to wider organisational change and transformation initiatives.
Experience Needed as a IT Project Manager
- Proven Project Management experience with the Legal, Financial or Professional Service sectors
- Proven experience working as a Project Manager, ideally delivering technology, business change or transformation projects within a complex organisation.
- Strong experience managing projects through the full lifecycle, from initial conception and business case development through to implementation, handover and benefits realisation.
- Experience using Agile, Waterfall and/or hybrid project delivery methodologies, with the ability to adapt the approach to suit the project and organisational environment.
- Strong understanding of project governance, risk and issue management, financial control, dependencies, change control and project reporting.
- Demonstrable experience of managing and influencing senior stakeholders, project sponsors, suppliers and cross-functional delivery teams.
- Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain delivery momentum.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to present complex information clearly to a range of audiences.
- Experience supporting business cases, benefits tracking, implementation, operational readiness and continuous improvement.
- A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to identify challenges early and take ownership of delivering solutions.
What the successfully IT Project Manager will receive:
- Salary between £55,000 and £58,000 pro rata
- Flexible Hybrid working model between home and working out of the office based in Bristol
