Join us as our Transport Supervisor based in our Portbury depot for our customer Octopus. You'll take ownership of a busy transport operation, lead and support our team of drivers to deliver exceptional service, safety, and performance. Working in a fast-paced environment, you'll play a key role in keeping operations running smoothly, building strong relationships with colleagues and customers, and ensuring every delivery meets the highest standards. This is a full time, permanent opportunity with 40 hours per week contracted. Working Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16.30 pm (flexibility required for business needs).



Pay, benefits and more:


We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £40,000 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). Your benefits package includes a company sponsored pension scheme, life assurance and access to our benefits platform, including retail discounts!


What you’ll do on a typical day:


  • Lead and develop a team of drivers, creating a high-performing culture through coaching, performance management, and clear communication of goals and expectations
  • Manage the day-to-day transport operation, ensuring fleet availability, driver compliance, and the safe, efficient delivery of services to customers
  • Champion safety and compliance, ensuring adherence to transport legislation, driver hours regulations, vehicle inspections, and company policies
  • Monitor operational performance, analysing KPIs such as OTIF, driver performance, and damage claims to identify trends and drive continuous improvement
  • Build strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams, resolving operational challenges, maintaining exceptional service levels, and supporting business objectives


What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Proven transport leadership experience, with a track record of managing teams, driving operational performance, and delivering excellent customer service
  • Strong people management skills, able to motivate, coach, and develop drivers and colleagues to achieve business goals and create a high-performing culture
  • Excellent organisational and analytical abilities, with experience using KPIs and operational data to identify opportunities for improvement and drive results
  • Confident communicator and stakeholder manager, capable of building strong relationships across teams, customers, and operational partners
  • Passionate about safety, compliance, and operational excellence, with a solid understanding of transport legislation, industry best practice, and working effectively in a fast-paced environment
