Are you a passionate and dedicated teacher looking to make a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people with additional needs?

We are working with a highly supportive and progressive specialist school in Bristol that is seeking an SEN Teacher to join its growing team. The school supports pupils with a range of needs, including Autism, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and communication needs. With a strong focus on personalised learning, wellbeing and positive outcomes, the school provides an environment where both pupils and staff are encouraged to thrive.

As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of your pupils. You will work closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists, pastoral staff and families to create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment that enables students to achieve their full potential both academically and personally.

The school offers excellent leadership, ongoing professional development and a collaborative team culture. Whether you are an experienced SEN Teacher or a mainstream teacher looking to transition into specialist education, this is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career within a rewarding and highly valued sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver tailored lessons to meet individual EHCP targets
  • Support pupils with Autism, SEMH and a range of additional learning needs
  • Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists and parents/carers
  • Foster positive relationships and promote emotional wellbeing
  • Create an engaging, structured and inclusive classroom environment
  • Contribute to annual reviews, assessments and pupil development plans
The Ideal Candidate
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Flexible, resilient and committed to inclusive education
  • Experience within SEN settings is desirable but not essential

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a forward-thinking specialist school where your work will have a lasting impact on the lives of young people. If you're looking for a role that is both professionally rewarding and personally fulfilling, we'd love to hear from you.
