Salary: £50,000 per annum + 13.6% performance-related bonus

Car Allowance: £591 per month

Essential Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or HND qualification in Electrical Engineering (preferred).
  • Electrical trade qualification or equivalent technical experience.
  • Proven experience within a technical sales, applications engineering, commissioning, or customer support environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power solutions, switchgear, monitoring, or related technologies.
  • Experience producing technical quotations, proposals, and tender documentation.
  • Ability to interpret customer requirements and develop appropriate technical solutions.
  • Experience attending customer sites for commissioning, fault finding, training, and technical support.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with customers, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to identify new business opportunities and support sales growth.
  • Willingness to travel regularly across the South West, South Region, and Wales.

About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Sales Engineer to join a leading organisation within the power solutions sector.

This field-based role will involve working with customers, sales teams, and technical specialists to deliver innovative electrical solutions, support complex projects, and provide expert technical guidance throughout the sales and delivery process.

You will play a key role in developing customer relationships, preparing technical proposals, supporting project delivery, and ensuring successful implementation from initial enquiry through to commissioning and handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop technical solutions to address specific customer requirements across power switching and monitoring product ranges.
  • Produce accurate quotations, proposals, and tender documentation in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Attend pre and post-tender meetings as the technical representative.
  • Attend pre-delivery project meetings and provide technical input.
  • Support commissioning, training, and handover activities at customer sites.
  • Provide expert technical support including fault finding, troubleshooting, and project assistance.
  • Maintain customer support levels through effective use of CRM systems and technical support tools.
  • Deliver product training to internal teams, customers, system integrators, and key stakeholders.
  • Support the development and growth of integrated product solutions.
  • Identify new business opportunities and manage quotation follow-up activity.
  • Work with the sales team to deliver regional commercial plans and achieve growth objectives.
  • Provide feedback on customer requirements to support continuous improvement.
  • Complete additional duties aligned with business and departmental objectives.
