We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Advisor to join a collaborative and supportive People Team. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys building strong relationships, providing expert advice, and making a tangible difference within a multi-site organisation.

Working closely with senior leaders and managers, you will provide expert guidance and hands-on support across a broad range of employee relations and people matters. You will help leaders navigate HR challenges with confidence, ensuring a consistent, fair and people-focused approach.

This is a varied and fast-paced role where no two days are the same. You'll utilise your HR expertise, sound judgement and problem-solving skills to develop practical solutions that support both organisational objectives and employee wellbeing. You will also contribute to wider HR projects and initiatives that help strengthen organisational culture and improve the employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide professional HR advice and guidance to managers and leaders on a wide range of employee relations matters.
  • Manage and support employee relations casework, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, performance and capability issues.
  • Ensure HR policies, procedures and employment practices are applied consistently and in line with current legislation.
  • Advise on pay, terms and conditions of employment.
  • Support organisational change initiatives and wider people projects.
  • Build positive working relationships across the organisation, acting as a trusted HR partner.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies, processes and best practice.
  • Support both operational and strategic HR activities.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and ensure GDPR compliance.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • CIPD Level 3 qualification (or working towards it), or equivalent HR advisory experience.
  • Previous experience in an HR Advisor role, particularly with employee relations casework.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of employment law, HR policies and GDPR requirements.
  • Experience advising on pay, terms and conditions of employment.
  • A proven track record of resolving complex employee relations cases with practical, outcome-focused solutions.
  • The ability to balance transactional HR support with strategic people initiatives.
  • The ability to work independently while also contributing positively within a team environment.

What's on Offer

  • Salary of £36,500–£40,000.
  • Flexible working arrangements, including hybrid working.
  • Choice of working from one of four Bristol-based office locations. Driving license is a must.
  • A supportive and collaborative working environment.
  • Opportunities for professional development and ongoing learning.
  • Access to high-quality training and career development.
  • Local Government Pension Scheme with generous employer contributions.
  • Occupational sick pay scheme.
  • Family-friendly policies and benefits.
  • Recognition of continuous service for eligible employees.
  • A strong commitment to wellbeing, inclusion and employee development.
