Yard & Warehouse Operative (FLT) – Portbury

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Yard & Warehouse Operative (FLT) to join our well-established client based in Portbury. This role would suit candidates with experience as a Yard Operative, Warehouse Operative, FLT Driver, Forklift Driver, Counterbalance Driver, Reach Truck Driver, Warehouse & FLT Operative or Yard Assistant.

Day-to-Day Duties

As a Yard & Warehouse Operative (FLT), your duties will include:

• Safely handling, filling and storing hazardous and non-hazardous chemical products
• Offloading bulk tankers into dedicated storage tanks and Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs)
• Operating automated filling stations to fill IBCs safely and accurately
• Picking, checking and building customer orders ready for dispatch
• Loading and unloading trailers using FLT equipment and manual handling techniques
• Moving, storing and organising stock throughout the warehouse and yard
• Carrying out Counterbalance and Reach Truck duties safely and efficiently
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping throughout the warehouse and yard
• Ensuring all work is completed in line with health and safety procedures and operational standards

Essential Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence
• Valid Reach Truck Forklift Licence
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong understanding of health and safety procedures
• Ability to carry out manual handling duties
• Comfortable wearing specialist PPE, including protective suits
• Excellent communication skills
• Reliable and flexible approach to work

Desirable Experience

• Previous warehouse experience
• Previous yard or logistics experience
• Experience working within a chemical or hazardous goods environment would be advantageous

Training Provided

• Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignment
