This is an excellent opportunity for a controls engineering professional to take on a leadership role, guiding a team of engineers while driving the design, development, implementation, and support of advanced control systems.

Outsource UK are recruiting a Lead Controls Engineer Outsource UK is recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturing business for an experienced Lead Controls Engineer to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a controls engineering professional to take on a leadership role, guiding a team of engineers while driving the design, development, implementation, and support of advanced control systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Controls Engineers, setting clear objectives and priorities.
- Drive the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of control systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of control systems within wider projects.
- Ensure all control systems meet required performance standards, safety regulations, and compliance requirements through robust testing and validation.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise for complex control system issues.
- Support and develop junior engineers through coaching and mentoring.
- Engage with customers to understand requirements and provide technical guidance and support.
- Stay current with emerging control systems technologies and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- HND, Degree, or equivalent qualification in a relevant technical discipline
- Strong PLC programming experience
- HMI programming experience using VB.NET or other high-level programming languages.
- Experience producing technical documentation.
- Strong communication skills with a good level of spoken and written English.
- Previous experience within controls and software engineering in a relevant industrial environment.
- Knowledge of communication protocols such as Modbus TCP and EtherCAT.
- Experience working within complex engineering or manufacturing environments.
