Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Casual Chef to join our culinary team in Bristol, United Kingdom. This is a Monday to Friday position offering the opportunity to work in a dynamic kitchen environment where your culinary expertise and organisational skills will be valued. You will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, maintaining food safety standards, and contributing to a collaborative kitchen atmosphere.

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications
  • Maintain the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation in accordance with relevant regulations
  • Manage kitchen stations efficiently and ensure all equipment is used correctly and maintained
  • Organise and control food inventory, including stock rotation and portion control
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff and management to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Adapt to changing menu requirements and accommodate dietary requirements and allergen awareness
  • Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure consistency with organisational standards
  • Assist with menu planning and recipe development where appropriate
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure efficient service delivery

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working as a Chef or in a professional kitchen environment
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and culinary practices
  • Comprehensive understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, pressurised environment
  • Strong communication and people skills with the ability to work collaboratively
  • Proficiency in operating standard kitchen equipment and tools
  • Knowledge of stock management and inventory control procedures
  • Awareness of dietary requirements and allergen management
  • Desirable: Food Safety certification or equivalent qualification
  • Desirable: Experience with multiple cuisines or specialised cooking methods with a focus on baking/pizzas
  • Desirable: Experience in staff training or mentoring within a kitchen setting
