The Role

Overseeing recruitment and operations, you will lead a critical HR function with responsibility for both recruitment operations and core people service delivery. You will oversee a centralised service, ensuring seamless, efficient and high-quality support across the entire employee lifecycle.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Leading a high-performing shared service team, delivering first-line support, onboarding and offboarding, contract administration.
  • Overseeing recruitment coordination, ensuring an efficient, inclusive and customer-focused experience for candidates and hiring managers.
  • Driving continuous improvement across HR operations, streamlining processes, enhancing governance, and improving service delivery.
  • Building strong partnerships across key functions to ensure joined-up, reliable operational delivery.
  • Supporting organisational change initiatives by providing operational insight and maintaining service effectiveness.
  • Using data and metrics to monitor performance, identify trends, and drive evidence-based decision-making.
  • Contributing to the development of future recruitment and talent approaches, ensuring operational readiness and consistency.

  • Significant experience leading HR operations and/or recruitment within a large, complex organisation.
  • Strong ability to translate operational challenges into clear improvement priorities.
  • Effective stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across organisational boundaries.
  • A proven commitment to service excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Confidence in using data, systems and metrics to inform decisions and drive performance.
  • A proactive, solution-focused approach with the ability to lead teams through change and improvement activities.

  • 37 hours per week (full-time equivalent) tends to be 8.30am-5pm (Mon to Thurs.) and 8.30am to 4.30pm (Friday), but can be flexible around this.
