Ocean Import Agent

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Ocean Import Agent to join a dynamic international logistics team. This role is key to ensuring the timely and accurate movement of freight while delivering outstanding customer service within the Ocean Import department.

You’ll be part of a collaborative and supportive environment where professionalism, innovation, and customer focus are at the core of everything we do.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the smooth and timely flow of ocean import shipments
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry into operational systems
  • Track and trace import files and monitor shipments daily
  • Coordinate documentation for customs clearance with customers and brokers
  • Handle client and vendor billing accurately and promptly
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers (e.g. shipping lines, hauliers)
  • Communicate effectively with overseas offices and respond to queries promptly
  • Ensure compliance with all internal procedures and external regulations
  • Monitor KPIs and maintain high service standards
  • Escalate issues to management where required
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and processes

What We’re Looking For

Skills & Experience

  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proactive and solution-focused mindset
  • Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office
  • Fluent English (spoken and written)
  • Understanding of ocean import processes (advantageous)
  • Hazardous Materials certification (desirable but not essential)
