The Head of Data Management role plays a pivotal role in shaping, governing, and ensuring that we have the right controls across our data landscape. Leading across the function in identifying and resolving our data issues to enable trust in the data we use and produce. Leading data risk reduction and effective control improvement plans so that we meet regulatory requirements. Leading the cultural and literacy uplift of the Finance function, empowering colleagues to learn how to optimise the data they use.
Day to day you'll:
- Lead the Finance Data Management team working with other leaders across the Group with key partnerships developed between Chief Data & Analytics Office and other data teams across the group
- Be responsible for the implementation of a ground-breaking operating model for Data Management across Finance including the Finance platform.
- Lead embedding of principles set out by the Group's Data Producer and Consumer Model across the Finance function.
- Supervise and assess the data risk across Finance crafting proactive insight to ensure controls are effective.
- Ensure that Finance effectively develops and implements appropriate data quality strategies to support the strategic ambition of automated retrieval of accurate data.
- Coordinate the delivery of controls and documentation for our most critical data, including leading all aspects of BCBS239 / Solvency II regulations in Finance.
- Build insight that supervises the validity and accuracy of data that underpins the data board metrics and key reports.
- Engage with Chief Data Analytics Office to develop frameworks, standards, and guidelines to support data quality culture in Finance.
- Drive data literacy within our Finance colleagues, driving awareness and engagement through our Finance Data Committee and structured learning.

What you'll need
- You'll need to be a dynamic and adaptable leader who will be responsible for identifying the business needs, crafting initiatives, and delivering ground-breaking solutions.

- You should be someone who can effectively communicate and influence Executive and Board level collaborators, for instance by preparing papers for senior management.

You'll also need to evidence skills in the below:
- Data Management: Designs and defines strategies, policies, procedures, and standards to scale the operationalisation of data management in the Group. Ensures adherence to frameworks to achieve the required level of consistency, quality, and protection to meet business needs.
- Data Controls: Understand the underlying assumptions of data control methods. Critically evaluate the validity of data control strategies. Design and conduct robust data control processes. Optimise and refine data control techniques. Provide insights.
- Data Literacy: Communicates with data confidently and effectively and uses data for decision making. Plans, advises, and drives initiatives for data literacy cross-functionally, including accessibility of data and analytics across the Group.
- Data Story Telling: Delivers powerful messages via various skills to engage diverse audiences, securing dedication.
- Nurturing Key Relationships: Applying personal influence and partner positioning to cultivate and maintain long-term relationships at all levels. Addressing customer conflict, fostering consensus, and influencing outcomes.
