The Role
As Turning Cell Leader, you will be responsible for the preparation, programming, setting, and operation of CNC lathes (Fanuc/G-code) to carry out high-quality turning and drilling operations. You'll oversee daily production, ensure quality standards are met, and work closely with the Machine Shop Manager to achieve production targets.

The Role
As Turning Cell Leader, you will be responsible for the preparation, programming, setting, and operation of CNC lathes (Fanuc/G-code) to carry out high-quality turning and drilling operations. You'll oversee daily production, ensure quality standards are met, and work closely with the Machine Shop Manager to achieve production targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Program, set, and operate CNC lathes (Fanuc controls – G-code essential)
- Load raw materials and components efficiently into machines
- Carry out precision inspection of finished parts using measuring equipment
- Perform daily machine checks and support preventative maintenance
- Maintain high standards of safety and quality in line with ISO 9001
- Lead by example within the cell, supporting continuous improvement efforts
- Proven experience in CNC lathe programming and setting (Fanuc/G-code)
- Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
- Confident in using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
- Strong understanding of turning processes and mechanical principles
- Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
- A proactive, team-focused approach with leadership capability
- £18.00 per hour + regular overtime
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays
