Radiodetection Ltd

Are you a visionary and driven software leader ready to drive global transformation? SPX Radiodetection is seeking a Global Software Manager to lead and inspire our international software team across the UK and India.

What we're looking for:

We’re seeking a forward-thinking and solution-oriented leader. You’ll need to bring clarity to complexity, communicate effectively with technical and commercial stakeholders alike, and support both people and process to drive meaningful change.

You’ll be experienced in delivering software through a mixture of internal and outsourced teams—around 30 people in total—with an understanding of co-development environments. You’ll provide both technical oversight and organisational structure, ensuring robust planning, clear estimation, and on-time delivery.

You will have a track record of leading in challenging environments and be confident engaging with partners to integrate our platforms into their cloud environments—across Azure, AWS, or others.

We value leaders who are inquisitive, know how to ask the right questions, and who can motivate teams to innovate while maintaining a practical focus on outcomes. A background in software or systems development is ideal, along with a passion for digitalisation and continuous improvement.

This is a strategic leadership role with opportunities for further growth in our organisation.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a distributed team of software engineers, architects, and tech leads.
  • Build and shape a world-class software organisation known for innovation, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Set clear delivery goals and implement robust frameworks for execution and performance tracking (including KPIs).
  • Define and execute a long-term software strategy aligned with product and business objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement across Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD practices.
  • Oversee the full software development lifecycle—ensuring scalable, maintainable, and secure solutions.
  • Work closely with Product Management and Project Management to define and deliver short-term and long-term software roadmap
  • Promote a high-performance culture that thrives on excellence, ownership, and proactive problem-solving.
  • Partner with customers and internal teams to deliver cloud-integrated solutions (Azure, AWS).
  • Encourage the adoption of emerging technologies and support innovation across the engineering function.
  • Ensure security, compliance, and performance standards are maintained in all development activity.

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience in software development in a global leadership role.
  • Proven ability to lead distributed, multicultural teams across multiple time zones.
  • Strong background in SaaS, cloud, and mobile software development.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering complex software projects on time and to specification.
  • Expertise in Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and modern engineering frameworks.
  • Experience in driving organisational transformation and managing change effectively.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A leadership style that is both visionary and people-focused—driving results through inspiration and trust.
