Job Introduction
We are seeking a dedicated Mailroom Supervisor, at HMRC Bristol to manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of our mailroom services. You will lead a team of operatives, ensuring an exceptional guest experience aligned with client specifications, while upholding the highest standards of safety, compliance, and performance.

- Monday to Friday - 0700 - 1500, 0900 - 1700
- £13.66 per hour
We are seeking a dedicated Mailroom Supervisor, at HMRC Bristol to manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of our mailroom services. You will lead a team of operatives, ensuring an exceptional guest experience aligned with client specifications, while upholding the highest standards of safety, compliance, and performance.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee all mailroom operations, ensuring services meet contractual and client expectations.
- Manage and support mailroom staff, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
- Ensure compliance with company and client policies, including health & safety, security, infection control, and COSHH regulations.
- Wear appropriate uniform and PPE at all times.
- Deliver staff training on operational, legal, and client-specific procedures.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure service standards and compliance.
- Maintain and update mailroom software systems and complete administrative tasks as required.
- Report building defects and equipment faults promptly.
- Coordinate supplies ordering and distribution.
- Liaise regularly with the client and attend team/client meetings.
- Lead staff briefings and collect payroll-related information.
Essential
- Previous experience in a mailroom environment.
- Basic literacy and numeracy.
- Proficient in using computers and relevant software.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- NVQ or equivalent qualification in facilities or support services.
