Job Summary
At Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S), we supply and maintain vital equipment and services for the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force. Together, we deliver a vast range of essential defence programmes, and strive for what's next. Because it helps keep our military at the top of their game and our nation safe – for today, and tomorrow.
We offer 25+ days’ holiday, flexible and hybrid working, enhanced parental leave schemes, shopping discounts, and an exceptional employer pension contribution of 28.97%, to help make work work for you.
For security reasons some of these posts may be open to sole UK nationals only. A ‘sole UK national’ refers to an individual who holds citizenship solely in the UK, without dual citizenship or nationality from another country. We’re unable to offer visa sponsorship.
This role requires you to have lived in the UK for the last 5 years and obtain Security Check (SC) security clearance. Clearance must be obtained without any caveats that prevent you from carrying out the role you’ve been recruited for. If it isn’t obtained, or is obtained but with caveats that prevent you from carrying out the role, any conditional offer made to you will be withdrawn. Obtaining SC security clearance can be a lengthy process, and we reserve the right to withdraw any conditional offer made if the necessary security clearance isn’t obtained within 12 months.
Job Description
Are you ready to take on a pivotal role in delivering and managing Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) activities? We are seeking several dedicated individuals to lead specialist technical acquisition and upgrade projects, ensuring the design of supportable and sustainable equipment and products.
This is your chance to contribute to the development of maintainable, cost-effective, and operationally available capabilities that meet customer requirements. You will be responsible for planning and leading ILS programmes and packages of work. This will involve determining, developing, testing, evaluating, and accepting equipment and product support designs to deliver assured support solutions. This role is business-facing, either within a specific delivery team or in a service support assurance or consultancy capacity. It is a key role in leading and delivering ILS acquisition and upgrade programmes, driving capability support design, support solution development, and implementation. You will play a vital role in influencing business investment decisions by highlighting the whole-life support cost impact. You will also provide expert advice and guidance to in-service teams, customers, suppliers, and functional colleagues, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned in delivering sustainable and supportable solutions. In addition to these responsibilities, you will ensure compliance with relevant legislation, statutory regulations, ILS policies, and standards. You will also adhere to DE&S Business Management System processes, ensuring that all activities are conducted to the highest standards of quality and governance.
Please note some of these posts may be reserved for Sole UK Nationals.
We champion flexible ways of working. Regular in-person attendance is required (this is expected to be approximately 60% of your working week) to promote the benefits of face-to-face collaboration alongside flexibility of hours to support work-life balance and business need.
