We are recruiting for a Special Education Teacher in the Redwick area of South Gloucestershire / bordering Bristol. Ideally you will have a have experience of working with Children with Autism and related communication difficulties.

Duties
You will be key in delivering high-quality teaching to the young people within a safe environment helping to equip them for the next stage of their lives. The School offers life skills as well as a range of GCSE / Functional Skills / BTEC accreditations and entry level pathways to further education.
Criteria
Successful applicants will be subject to pre-employment safeguarding checks including an enhanced disclosure and barring service (DBS) check. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, and the employer is permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.

Criteria
- Relevant knowledge of working with children with ASD desirable.
- Understanding Safeguarding and child protection guidelines.
- PGCE, QTS, Cert Ed or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training.
- Experience of Teaching Maths, English or Computing at KS3/KS4 desirable (Other Subjects will be considered)
- Good communication skills both written & verbal.
- Ability to engage students in positive enabling relationships.
