Contract type: Full time

At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.
Your impact
Join our team as a Construction Manager, where you'll oversee and manage all on-site GI activities to ensure they are conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, UK legislation, and company procedures. Your role will be crucial in maintaining high standards of quality control, coordinating subcontractors, managing health and safety compliance, and ensuring all site activities are accurately documented and executed.
In this role, you will manage ground investigation works, including drilling, sampling, in-situ testing, and monitoring. You'll ensure all activities adhere to relevant British Standards and industry best practices. Managing and maintaining GI equipment, coordinating with project managers and stakeholders, and resolving technical issues will be part of your daily responsibilities.
Additionally, you'll develop and implement the Construction Phase Plan (CPP) in line with CDM 2015 regulations, conduct site inductions and toolbox talks, enforce safe systems of work, and manage site logistics. Your attention to detail will be key in maintaining accurate records, compiling the Health and Safety File, and ensuring compliance with waste management regulations.
Furthermore, you will oversee the quality of GI data, manage and coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, and conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Identifying and resolving any technical issues or discrepancies that arise during GI works, and ensuring effective communication and coordination between all parties involved in the project, will be essential.
You will also manage welfare facilities on site, maintain a site register of all contractors and visitors, and manage and control site access. Your role will involve representing the company professionally, managing environmental aspects of site activities, and ensuring compliance with waste management regulations.
We value collaboration and believe that in-person interactions are crucial for both our culture and client delivery. We empower employees with our hybrid working policy, allowing them to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations enabling them to deliver their best work.
