We are currently collaborating with a leading UK defence organisation at the forefront of digital transformation within engineering. As part of a major programme to extend Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) into a fully integrated End-to-End Model-Based Engineering (E2E MBE) framework, this client is seeking a Digital Engineering – Systems Capability Lead to join their fast-evolving Systems Engineering and Design function.


Role Highlights


• Lead the continued deployment and refinement of MBSE practices across UK programmes.


• Support integration of systems engineering with disciplines such as software, ECAD, MCAD, and speciality engineering.


• Drive the introduction of generative AI into systems workflows, including use of productivity tools and specialist LLMs.


• Champion initiatives around engineering data modelling, governance, analytics, and lifecycle management.


• Create best-practice guidance and contribute to capability uplift through training and hands-on support.


• Act as a key advisor, collaborating with national and international engineering teams to embed new technologies and methods.


Key Requirements


• Extensive experience in systems engineering, with strong understanding of MBSE practices.


• Demonstrated capability in deploying new engineering tools or digital capabilities across large organisations.


• Proven ability to influence across technical disciplines and manage change.


• Experience or genuine interest in AI applications, digital modelling, and data-centric engineering.


• Strong communication skills and a holistic, strategic approach to systems thinking.


• Relevant technical degree or equivalent experience required.


• Must hold British citizenship or dual UK nationality (with British citizenship) due to security clearance requirements.
