How you'll make an impact

The Finance Assistant will play a key role in supporting the finance team with accounting and administrative tasks, ensuring smooth financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Process invoices, payments, and send remittance.
  • Bookkeeping duties, including managing direct debits and standing orders.
  • Process and pay employee expenses in line with company policy.
  • Monitor accounts payable and receivable, following up with suppliers as needed.
  • Assist with monthly bank and trade reconciliations, investigating discrepancies.
  • Support payroll processing.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in compliance with internal policies.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in responses for the annual audit.
  • Support VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.
  • Provide general administrative support to the finance team.
  • Work on ad-hoc projects as required by the finance department and Directors.
  • Manage company cash flow requirements, ensuring sufficient funds for trading activities.

  • You are familiar with accounting software (ideally Hubdoc and Xero, or similar).

  • You have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • You are highly organised and can manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • You can work independently and maintain confidentiality in financial matters.
  • You are happy to be office-based.


Desirable Skills:


  • Degree educated.
  • Familiarity with budgeting, financial forecasting, and management reports.
  • AAT or equivalent accounting qualification.
