Role Description
The Graduate Engineer will join the Rheinmetall Defence UK Engineering organisation supporting the design, manufacture and test of military vehicles and systems. You will also work in close conduct with other experienced engineers on engineering programmes within RDUK, these will range from Customer vehicle procurement programmes, internal research and development programmes and internal business processes.
The Graduate Engineer’s responsibilities include learning and developing practical and theoretical engineering skills, participating in meetings and workshops (on and offsite), observing all health and safety codes, completing individual tasks and assignments, as well as delivering presentations to staff and other stakeholders. You should be well organised, flexible, and willing to assist wherever possible.
During this role, you will rotate around the various engineering departments. You will support programme teams in the delivery of engineering tasks and activities and undertake other duties as directed by the Line Manager.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE
Skills Required
Essential Skills:
- Minimum of 2:1 Masters Degree in Engineering
- Minimum of 3 A Levels including Math’s and Science or equivalent
- Interest in design, technology, new product development and developing an understanding of engineering in industry.
- Interest in understanding how systems work and interact together from a mechanical or electrical perspective.
- Proficient in IT applications such as MS Office suite and quick to learn new engineering IT applications.
- Able to show and take initiative.
- Excellent communication skills with other team members internally and externally.
- Able to communicate both verbally and written e.g. emails, reports and presentations.
- Good administrative skills including ability to organise and prioritise tasks.
- High levels of attention to detail.
- Excellent time keeping.
- Eligible for, and be able to attain; and maintain an SC Clearance.
- The ability to travel and work to other UK sites and to international sites such as those in Germany, is required.
