Description

This position sits within the MO Technology function and reports into the Portfolio Partner and SIC lead. The role will be responsible for directing and consolidating all investment planning activity and outcomes-based reporting across Business and Technology. This role will be central to the strategic foresight and planning across the Investment cycle, providing a total view of investment.

The role will work across product, project and pipeline work to ensure the front door to investment allocation/decision making process is running as efficiently as possible.

This role will support with Investment scenario modelling and portfolio risk analysis, shaping and coordinating the relevant portfolio forums, acting as the central portfolio liaison to the product operations team and the business. The role will be heavily data and reporting focussed with an onus to automate and streamline activity.

The role will work to form effective relationships with the partners, product, finance and other key functions to gather and produce a consolidated view of all investment requests, early discovery work, pipeline and in-flight activity.

This role will create an automated reporting mechanism using appropriate tooling and AI driven analytics to ensure a continuous cohesive view of all Investment (product, project and pipeline) applying a strategic and commercial lens. The role will work for the portfolio partner and SIC lead helping to drive commercial insight, analysis and reporting across the group investment portfolio.

This role will need to help build a powerful narrative around each investment ask, helping to shape any business cases and forum submissions.

This role will support the SIC lead partner with the production of the monthly Strategic Investment Committee. The Portfolio team will lead through a partnership model, helping the business and Technology create a cohesive strategic pipeline of value led investment propositions.

The role is co-responsible for building an automated digital first reporting and insight function that will partner with the Product team to manage the overall investment pipeline and embed the investment prioritisation model, helping to drive effective Executive value led decision making.

The role will also lead the implementation of a robust benefits tracking and management process, impact assessments, risks and issues identification in support of the Partner leads and the SIC, enabling recommended options to be presented to the relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • A commercially driven individual with hands on experience producing strategic analysis and reporting
  • Experience working in an agile environment and has previously worked within a portfolio and product environment
  • Demonstrable experience in change management through both portfolio management and value focussed product/project delivery
  • Thrives in a fluid environment, helping to drive positive change
  • Experience working with senior internal/external stakeholders
  • Experience building digital reporting and producing clear narratives around the pipeline.
  • Demonstratable experience in operating within a strategic function, surfacing value and connecting the dots across a broad scope of work
  • Ability to build insight and analytics using AI tooling
  • Demonstrable experience in building forward looking dashboards, reports and presentations
  • Power BI and reporting experience
  • Systems thinking, problem solving, analytical skills & a collaborative team player with strong relationship management skills
  • Highly Numerate with an ability to translate strategy into commercial value
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to constructively challenge and ensure deadlines are met by assigned owners

Minimum criteria

You'll need all of these.

  • A solid understanding of Technology operating models and the evolving technology landscape/trends

  • Strong commercial and financial experience
  • Very strong EQ and ability to work with a myriad of stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.
  • Demonstrate the ability to create a strong and forward-thinking reporting and insight
  • Ability to consume complex data and underlying strategies and translate them into a cohesive narrative and roadmap.
  • Broad technology experience with a good understanding of the underlying technology functions (Engineering, Architecture, data)
  • Experience creating strategy in a product led organisation
