About The Role
Shift Pattern: This role is term time only, working 39 weeks per year, paid for 43 weeks. Monday to Friday, 8am to 2pm.
OCS are recruiting for a Chef Manager role in a reputable primary school, catering for around 200 pupils and staff. Within this role, you will be managing two team members, you will also be responsible for adhering to company and legislative Health and Safety and Food Safety regulations and record keeping. As a company, OCS is proud to provide our schools with fresh food cooked from scratch every day, so great cooking skills are a must!
This role would be a great first step into chef management for a Chef, a Cook, somebody looking for more sociable hours or returning to cooking after a career break. There is plenty of scope to grow the business and for your own personal development.

As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Preparing and cooking nutritious and delicious lunches for primary school students and occasional hospitality
- Ensuring all company and legislative health and safety and food safety requirements are met
- Completion of company bookwork, weekly stock takes and ordering
- Adhere to company budget set by the Operations Manager
- Establish good relationships with the client, other site staff and the wider OCS Group
- Managing a small team of Catering Assistants
- An experienced Chef looking to take a step into a managerial position
- Someone who is passionate about food and feeding young people
- A person that is able to use their own initiative
- Someone that works well as part of a team
- Must have the Right to Work in the UK
- Basic IT skills are essential (for stock taking, ordering, emails, etc).
- Be prepared to undergo a DBS or Enhanced Security Checks and provide 5 years referencing for vetting requirements
- While not always mandatory, having a food hygiene certificate (Level 3) is advantageous
- Previous catering experience
