Job Description
The Job MissionThe role of Mechanical Integration Engineer sits within the Equipment team on a major UK nuclear power plant project. You will lead the coordination of technical topics across multiple stakeholders. Your future team is focused on managing design stability, configuration control, and resolving technical interface challenges.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate and resolve technical issues across contracts, systems, and buildings
- Act as the lead representative for design maturity and stability within the Equipment team
- Manage and report on the resolution of design changes and outstanding technical topics
- Maintain oversight of all open technical matters, including validation and escalation as needed
- Lead internal decision-making processes and advise on appropriate governance when required
- Support the implementation of configuration management best practices across the team
- Produce progress reports and dashboards on design changes and open technical issues
- Facilitate collaboration between engineering entities to remove project blockers
Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Strong engineering, project leadership, or coordination background
- In-depth knowledge of nuclear design and engineering processes
- Experience leading in complex, regulated environments
- Ability to drive team performance and maintain design discipline
- Proven track record of ensuring quality and technical integrity
Desired Skills
- Familiarity with large-scale nuclear project governance and processes
- Experience working within an Equipment team or cross-functional coordination role
- Knowledge of configuration and change management tools
- Technical reporting and KPI dashboard development
- Previous involvement in UK-based nuclear construction projects
