Job Title: Data Insights Lead - Supply Chain Sustainability
Salary: £59,850 - £66,500
Location: Bristol, Halifax, Edinburgh or Birmingham
Hours: Full time -12 month Fixed term contract
Working Pattern: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in office. Ad hoc travel to other core hubs across the UK for team events will also be required. In addition, travel may be involved with this role to Supplier premises or conferences, with potentially a few nights away from home every quarter.

We're a high profile and impactful team. The Supply Chain & Technology Sustainability Team sits within Group Sourcing & Supplier Management, and we're responsible for ensuring we improve the sustainability impacts of our supply chain. This includes reducing the carbon emissions that our suppliers generate and ensuring our suppliers meet other broader Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) requirements around issues such as ethics, modern slavery, human rights and nature.
This role is crucial in supporting how we improve the assessment and compliance of our suppliers (new and existing) against evolving ESG requirements. We align ourselves to the Group's Sustainability strategy and ambitions and in particular the Group's public ambition to reduce supply chain emissions by 50% by 2030, on the path to net zero by 2050. Our broader team have accountability for Sustainability for the Group Chief Operating Office, providing the opportunity to gain exposure and learning around activity to improve the Sustainability of our technology and data.
In this role you'll be designing and delivering an approach for managing and optimising use of data from multiple sources. Primarily focusing on supply chains, you'll be working to identify how we can give better visibility of important data to stakeholders, as well as using the data we have to better inform future plans, mapping data gaps and finding ways to close those gaps. You 'll anticipate future trends and developments with ESG data, and engage in hands-on tasks like research, data analysis, information visualization, and report creation.
What you'll do
Developing data tools and dashboards to support the team to self-serve the data required to manage day to day activities including internal and external reporting.
Co-ordinating and influencing activity to embed tools and dashboards into business as usual (BAU) processes which will support the long term needs of the team.
Providing data-driven insights using existing data sets to support decision making around future priorities and funding.
Acting as a subject matter expert by maintaining an in-depth understanding of sustainability data and insights, as well as regulatory requirements and developments.
Working closely with governance and reporting colleagues to ensure that data is accurate, complete and fit for purpose for sharing with internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborate with Group Sourcing & Supplier Management Data team, Chief Data Office and key team members to ensure alignment of strategy with that of the wider group, and improve collaboration across existing ESG data programmes and data activity.
What you'll need
Data Analysis: Adept at manipulating data sets to help set strategy, advise decision-making, deliver process improvements and handle performance. Strong proficiency using tools such as Excel and Power BI and able to demonstrate experience working to engineer and analyse large datasets using a variety of tools and systems.
Handling complexity: able to produce reports/presentations and communications that convert sophisticated ideas/data in a simple and meaningful way.
Understanding of LBG sustainability goals: a good knowledge of LBGs sustainability goals.
Understanding of current ESG regulatory reporting requirements.
Knowledge or experience of CDP, EcoVadis or similar ESG data disclosure and reporting platforms.
Experience working on ESG-based projects or within a team primarily focused on sourcing or supply chain management.
