Pertemps Technical and engineering are recruiting for a Workshop Engineer for permanent, full-time work based in Warmley, Bristol.

As a Workshop Engineer specialising in large diesel engines, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of the generator fleet.



  • Monday - Friday role 

  • £29,500-£37,150 per annum

  • Overtime Available

Key Responsibilities:

Generator Maintenance
· Perform routine service, maintenance, and overall upkeep of large, containerised generators (500 KVA and above) within the rental fleet.
· Follow manufacturers’ recommended service schedules to ensure optimal performance.
Engine Rebuilds & Repairs
· Conduct rebuilds and repairs of large diesel engines (15L to 60L) from leading manufacturers such as Perkins, Cummins, and others.
Yard Operations
· Assist with general tasks in the yard, including loading and offloading equipment.
· Operate forklift equipment as needed.
Delivery & Collection
· Deliver and collect generators and ancillary equipment using company vehicles.
· Refuel generators as part of the delivery process when required.
On-Site Service & Repairs
· Provide servicing and repairs for Power Electrics’ equipment as well as customer-owned equipment on-site, when necessary.
On-Call Responsibilities
· Participate in the company’s on-call rota system to ensure 24/7 support.
Maintenance & Housekeeping
· Assist with basic maintenance tasks, including equipment cleaning, and maintain a safe, tidy work environment in line with the Company Health & Safety Policy.
Health & Safety Compliance
· Adhere to relevant regulations and ISO standards (9001, 45001, 14001, 50001), actively supporting continuous improvement initiatives.


Technical Qualifications
· A relevant qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Diesel Fitting, or Plant Maintenance (e.g., City & Guilds, BTEC, or equivalent).
· Alternatively, completion of an approved apprenticeship in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent proven experience in servicing and repairing large diesel engines.
Skills
· Strong fault-finding skills and effective communication abilities
· Effective communication skills for reporting and collaboration.
