Responsibilities
  • Answer and direct telephone calls in a polite and professional manner.
  • Schedule and confirm patient outpatient and inpatient appointments, ensuring effective use of time for healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain and organise patient records and documents, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Prepare and process medical documents, referrals, and charts as required by the healthcare team.
  • Assist in billing and insurance verification processes, providing necessary documentation to patients and insurers.
  • Manage office inventory, ordering supplies as needed to ensure efficient operation of the practice.
  • Coordinate communication between patients and consultants to enhance overall patient experience.

Requirements


  • Proven experience as a medical secretary or in a similar administrative role.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare procedures is essential.
  • Proficiency in office software, including MS Office Suite and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with patients and healthcare providers.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality regarding patient information.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical office administration is a plus.
