Position: Senior Estimator - Civil Engineering Location: Bristol Salary: Up to £70,000 per annum + package Are you an experienced Estimator with a proven track record in civil engineering? A leading Tier One Contractor is seeking a talented Senior Estimator to join their pre-construction team. Based in Bristol, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate and competitive tenders for major water infrastructure projects across the Wessex Water and South West Water regions. The Role As a Senior Estimator, you'll take ownership of the estimation process for complex and high-value civil engineering projects. You will provide leadership, drive tender strategies, and ensure the delivery of winning bids that align with the company's objectives. Key Responsibilities: ·Lead the preparation of cost estimates, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness. ·Analyse tender documentation, including drawings, specifications, and contracts, to determine project requirements. ·Engage with supply chain partners and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and support. ·Identify risks, value engineering opportunities, and potential cost savings. ·Chair pre-tender meetings and contribute to strategic bid planning. ·Manage tender documentation and ensure compliance with client requirements and company policies. ·Present finalised tenders to senior leadership, clearly articulating project scope and cost breakdowns. ·Mentor and support junior team members, sharing expertise to develop the team's capabilities. About You We're looking for a seasoned professional with deep knowledge of civil engineering and estimating practices, coupled with strong commercial acumen and leadership abilities. Essential Qualifications & Experience: ·Proven experience as an Estimator in civil engineering, with a track record of delivering winning tenders. ·Strong understanding of NEC contracts and tendering processes. ·Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Conquest, Causeway, or similar). ·Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. ·HNC/HND/Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline. ·Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders. Desirable Experience: ·Experience working on water infrastructure projects. ·Familiarity with regional supply chains and subcontractors.
