Buyer – Engineering Scale-Up – Bristol - Permanent position


Full time, hybrid (ideally 3 days per week onsite)


I am advertising on behalf of my exciting client, a fast-growing engineering scale-up, looking for a Buyer to join their procurement team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking company, supporting cutting-edge engineering and production projects.

The Role:


As a Buyer, you will play a key role in sourcing high-quality materials and components, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring a smooth and efficient procurement process.


Source, evaluate, and select suppliers to ensure the best quality, cost, and reliability.


Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company objectives.


Negotiate contracts and pricing to optimize supply chain costs.


Monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards.


Work closely with engineering and production teams to meet material and component needs.


Manage purchase orders, invoices, and delivery schedules for timely supply.


Conduct market research to stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies.


Proactively address supply chain challenges to minimize disruptions.


Support inventory management improvements and continuous procurement optimizations.


What We’re Looking For:


Proven experience as a Buyer in an engineering or manufacturing environment.


Strong negotiation skills with a strategic mindset.


Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.


Solid understanding of supply chain dynamics and procurement processes.


Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.


Strong communication skills – able to work cross-functionally.


Ability to work independently and manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.


Nice to Have:



  • Relevant experience as a Buyer or a degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering.

  • Experience with MS Dynamics and international logistics.
