RGB Recruitment
Role – Principal Designer.Salary - £45k - £90k, depending on experience and qualifications.Location – BristolIf you would like to find out more about this opportunity, please contact Sophie Randle or Matthew Lovegrove at RGB Recruitment ASAP! Are you technically skilled with a background in Building Control/Inspection or Architecture, looking for an exciting new challenge? Join an award-winning, independent consultancy with a reputation for innovation and excellence. This multi-disciplinary company has recently secured a 5-year nationwide program of works and are looking for three Principal Designers to take the lead on these high-profile projects. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys the technical and compliance side of the industry, rather than hands-on design work. Working autonomously, you’ll focus on ensuring that projects comply with current building regulations and CDM2015 regulations, with the flexibility to work fully remotely or from one of their nine offices nationwide.Whether you come from a Building Control/Inspection background or an Architectural background, this is a fantastic opportunity to step into an exciting and reward new challenge.Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and deliver a portfolio of nationwide projects, ensuring compliance with building regulations and CDM2015 regulations.
  • Collaborate with external design teams, focusing on technical and compliance aspects rather than hands-on design work.
  • Provide expert technical advice to ensure that design proposals meet safety and regulatory standards.
  • Play a key role in shaping and potentially growing the Principal Designer service line within the company.
  • Diversify into other disciplines within the consultancy, with opportunities for long-term career growth.
Requirements:
  • A strong background in Building Control/Inspection or Architecture, with a focus on technical work (there is no design work involved and will all be technical writing).
  • An in-depth understanding of current building regulations (knowledge of CDM2015 regulations is a bonus, but training will be provided).
  • Excellent attention to detail and technical expertise.
  • A preference for the compliance, writing, and regulatory side of projects over drawing or hands-on design work.
  • The ability to work autonomously and manage projects effectively.
This is a unique opportunity offering a competitive salary (dependent on experience and qualifications), an excellent benefits package, working within a friendly, collaborative, and forward-thinking environment. This role also offers long-term growth potential, with the chance to diversify into other disciplines or develop the role of Principal Designer into a standalone service line within the company.
