We are a small high profile Team that regularly interacts with a range of senior stakeholders, provides support to large business areas, expertise and guidance on industrial relations, employee relations and complex change, to support our broader transformation. You will be an integral part of the Team and can expect to design strategy, negotiate and consult on behalf of LBG with People Forums and two recognised unions. You will have strong stakeholder management skills and a talent for influence and diplomacy. You will work in a culture that values bold thinking, collaboration and agility.


There will be some travel to the major sites from time to time for Team events and some meetings and this can be planned in advance. We are open to discussion on other agile and flexible working patterns.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead Group-wide and Functional industrial relations strategies that support business growth and workforce agility. Support the delivery of LBG's strategy through complex people change.
  • Partner with leaders, Forums, unions and stakeholders to drive collaborative outcomes.
  • Use knowledge and experience of external insight and practices to shape strategy and approach.
  • Use data to shape responses and to innovate different outcomes and an active interest in how data, technology and AI is changing jobs.
  • Inquisitive, and great at building external and internal networks.
  • Provide customized help and support to the Director of Colleague Relations and Head of Colleague Relations Strategy, and supports the strategic planning and delivery of the work of the Colleague Relations Team.
  • Manage a significant portion of the organisation's risk management and/or control process, contributing to the development and implementation of risk management policies and procedures.

What you'll need

  • Anticipate and solve complex industrial relations challenges with proactive, solution orientated approaches
  • Build and use technical knowledge and experience of industrial relations law, employment law, government policy, standard methodology and knowledge of ACAS Codes of Practice, to shape advice, propositions, responses and direction.
  • Navigate legislative change, negotiate and consult with confidence, creativity and integrity
  • Can operate in ambiguity, with a change attitude and always striving for continuous improvement.
  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of the development and implementation of risk management policies and procedures.
