Production Technician - Mechanical - #1709674

Pertemps Bristol is recruiting for mechanical production technicians to work within a thriving plasma technology business in Yatton, near Bristol. This is a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a strong teamwork culture where you will be building precision equipment that is used at the forefront of scientific research and development.

• £31,000 (£5270 additional shift allowance )-£34,000 ( £5,780 additional shift allowance ) depending on experience


• Monday - Friday


• Each working week consists of 4 shifts of 8 hours and one of 5 hours.  Currently, the shifts are Early (starting at 06:00hrs) and Afternoon (starting at 14:00hrs)

• Build systems, sub-assemblies and piece parts for complex systems


• Ensure that the requirements of the BOM and the customer specification are achieved


• Identify and resolve build problems


• Report technical issues and record using the FRACAS process


• Detail fitting skills to precision level, including machining (typically milling and turning), vacuum and pneumatics and pipe bending with stainless steel, ¼" to ½"


• Train and guide less experienced technicians

• Time served Mechanical apprenticeship or City and Guilds part 3, or HND, HNC, or BTech level 3


• Ability to read mechanical drawings


• Ability to fault find and implement corrective action


• Precision fitting and pipe bending skills


• A good working knowledge of Swagelok


• PC skills


• Good communication skills
