Full-time, Hybrid Working

Due to continued growth within the business, we’re looking to add to our team in Bristol. Our office is conveniently located in the city centre office of Bristol and is home to a small team of cost and project managers working on projects within Bristol on the surrounding areas. The office environment could be described as energetic, vibrant and welcoming. Hybrid working is standard within the business.
This role in question offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects across the built environment. This can include projects within the retail, residential, commercial and healthcare sectors, to name a few. Therefore, suiting candidate who enjoy variety in their portfolio of projects.
For candidates looking to achieve professional membership to the RICS; we have you covered! We have a formal internal APC programme with over 50 staff nationwide enrolled currently. Meaning you’re not feeling alone. Key tasks and responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor role include:

Key tasks and responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor role include:
- Working as part of a team of Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers reporting into the Technical Director whilst providing a cost consulting role to our clients.
- Ensure that our clients achieve their stated objectives through close teamwork, proactive cost control and the provision of contractual advice.
- Performing a fund monitoring role for lenders.
- Attend and/or chair meetings with client.
- Prepare financial reports.
- Monitor the communication of a project status.
- Prepare full tender documentation.
- Provide advice on contractors, specialists, procurement routes, cost and programme solutions.
- Provide advice on suitability and preparation of contract documents.
- Prepare management reports.
- Monitor performance milestones and deliverables.
- Administer cost/variation procedures.
- Carry out full post contract surveying duties including establishing the effect of variations, settlement of accounts and disputes.
- Provide day-to-day cost management of projects from estimate preparation and cost planning through to final account settlements.
- A relevant degree or master’s qualification in quantity surveying or a similar equivalent subject is essential.
- Passionate about becoming chartered with the RICS. Ideally you will have made steps to start this process.
- Prior experience of working in a Quantity Surveying role for a similar consultancy carrying out full pre and post contract duties.
- Demonstrable experience of acting in the Project QS role and taking the day-to-day leadership on one or more projects from conception through to completion, with the support of a senior manager.
- Familiar with common forms of contract such as JCT and/or NEC.
- Demonstrable experience of carrying out tendering and procurement processes.
- Willingness to learn and embrace new responsibilities to aid your career development.
