About The Role

The Opportunity

As a Piping Engineer, you will oversee the full off-site delivery life cycle, ensuring that all engineering activities are performed in accordance with safety, quality, and cost parameters. Your role will involve coordinating the review and acceptance of designs by various parties under the surveillance of Nuclear Services. You will work closely with the Engineering Manager and the Joint Design Office (JDO) to manage the transfer of engineering responsibility and provide necessary support during post HO3 activities.

You will ensure the planning and delivery of design and engineering are performed to meet the needs of the Project. This includes mitigating delivery risks and taking ‘best for Project solutions’ where necessary. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the successful delivery of all engineering from all parties up to delivery to Site (HO3).

What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will support the Engineering Manager in resolving technical topics and queries, ensuring timely turnaround on engineering issues. You will oversee the resolution of NSSS large bore, small bore, and instrumentation piping related topics and technical queries. Your responsibilities will include managing contractual correspondence linked to engineering issues, cooperating closely with the NSSS Configuration and Open Point Manager, and ensuring proper engineering support is provided throughout all activities. You will also support the Engineering Manager through governance routes for engineering matters, manage design interfaces and supplier feedback, and prepare trackers for schedule and maturity analysis.

Who You Are

You have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with experience in the design, manufacture, and installation of small bore and large bore piping, and instrumentation cabinets, ideally in a nuclear application. You have a proven track record of delivering technical expertise in projects within a technically complex and dynamic environment, ensuring high levels of safety, security, and environmental responsibility. You are familiar with integrated management systems and the various policies, procedures, standards, and documents applicable to technical and contractual management. You excel in engaging stakeholders, facilitating issue resolution, and have excellent communication and organisational skills. You hold a degree and chartered status in an engineering, construction, or related field, and have knowledge of CDM Regulations.
