Role profile

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our Company Secretarial team based in Bristol on a permanent basis.

You will be a fee earner and active member of the team. You will have full responsibility for your own caseload of approximately 200 client companies and you will be expected to deal with the company secretarial compliance work for these companies, and maintain client relationships. You will also need to advise fee earners in other teams on company secretarial practice and procedures, and Companies House compliance issues.

This is a full-time role with the opportunity for some home working.

The Role

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Advising clients and other teams on company secretarial practice and procedures, company law, and on Companies House compliance matters generally
  • Ensuring annual Companies House filings for client companies are dealt with on time, including preparation and filing of the annual Confirmation Statement
  • Preparing Companies House forms and liaising with Companies House
  • Preparing board resolutions, shareholder resolutions and other company documentation
  • Updating client companies' statutory registers using Diligent Entities (previously Blueprint) (our company secretarial software) following any corporate event
  • Undertaking electronic formations of UK companies
  • Advising on notarisation and apostille requirements of UK documents for foreign jurisdictions
  • Monthly & annual billing of all own matters, and completing all client engagement formalities
  • Contributing to know-how

Technical Skills and Experience

We are looking for a driven and ambitious professional with relevant corporate experience working in a Company Secretarial team or as a corporate lawyer, with a good understanding of corporate law and updating statutory registers. While familiarity with Diligent Entities and/or holding an ICSA qualification would be advantageous, it is not a strict requirement.

The Team

The team is led by Fiona Sweeting (Partner) and also consists of four further Company Secretarial Managers and two PAs.
