Our client is a leading manufacturer of automated packaging machinery and due to their continued success Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Electrical Controls & Automation Engineer.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing office based technical support and field electrical maintenance support. The role is primarily office based with some travel in UK and occasionally overseas.
The Role
Reporting to the service manager you will be responsible for delivering remote technical support (phone or online) for customers and also for assisting engineers with machine commissioning and installations in the field.
Office based your duties will include but not limited to the following;
You will be a qualified electrical engineer with good plc control skills Siemens, Allen Bradley. Programming beneficial but not essential.
You must have previous experience with installation, maintenance and repair of automated machinery.
You will have excellent customer service and written/verbal communication skills.
Hours of work
Monday to Friday 37 hours +OT

- Assist customers and service engineer with remote technical support e.g. electrical modifications, resolve software faults, implement software changes Allen Bradley, Siemens, HMI's
- Programme electrical components sold as spares
- Provide field support - machine installations, commissioning and maintenance.
- Onsite installation and commissioning of control systems
- Support the Field Service Manager in responding to incoming customer service telephone calls, emails
- Identify and promote customer machine modifications and upgrades
