Stroke Consultant Needed, South West England, Start 17th April Till 2nd June - #1701468

On behalf of a large hospital in South East England, we are seeking a Stroke Physician/Consultant to provide services from 17th April to 2nd June at minimum.

1. Manage a 40-bed stroke unit, including acute and rehabilitation care.


2. Work Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.


3. Experience with stroke care is essential, especially in hyper-acute stroke decisions related to thrombolysis and thrombectomy.


4. Participate in TIA clinics and be prepared to work 1 in 9 weekend emergency TIA clinics (four hours each morning).


5. General internal medical accreditation is preferred but not mandatory.

• The stroke team includes two SpRs, one staff grade, two Trust grades, one CT, one FY2, and one FY1.


• The team oversees care across two wards: an acute stroke unit (26 beds) and a rehabilitation unit (14 beds).


• The locum will have office space and access to administrative support.

• Local accommodation can be arranged.


• Extension of the contract is possible.
