ROLE SUMMARY
Bristol City Women's Football Club is seeking a creative and strategic Digital Content Specialist to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving our public relations efforts through the creation of engaging content, managing our social media presence, and keeping our digital platforms up to date. This role is crucial in telling the story of our club, enhancing our brand, and connecting with our community and fans. You will work closely with the Head of Women’s Football and Bristol City’s Communications Team to create a creative, engaging and relevant story-telling strategy which you will become the owner of, ensuring Bristol City Women are known, followed and admired by our local community and our growing fanbase.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Content Creation and Management
• Develop and implement content strategies that align with the club's goals and values.
• Create, curate, and manage high-quality content for our website, social media platforms, and other digital channels.
• Design and create presentations and reports for internal and external stake holders that are true to brand and vision.
• Ensure all content is consistent with our brand voice and style.


Social Media & Website Management
• Oversee the club's social media accounts, including content planning, posting, and engagement.
• Monitor social media trends and analytics to optimise content and increase engagement.
• Respond to comments and messages in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintain and update the club's website with fresh and engaging content.
• Ensure the website is user-friendly, up-to-date, and optimised for search engines.
• Continuously track performance of various publications and content, and make data-driven improvements.


Public Relations and Storytelling
• Develop and execute PR campaigns to enhance the club's visibility and reputation.
• Work with the broader Bristol Sport communication teams to write and distribute press releases, newsletters, and other communications.
• Build and maintain relationships with media outlets and journalists.


Collaboration and Communication
• Work closely with other departments, including marketing, coaching staff, and community relations, to ensure cohesive messaging.
• Collaborate with external partners, such as photographers, videographers, and graphic designers, to produce high-quality content.
• Participate in regular team meetings to discuss content plans and strategies.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field (preferable, but not mandatory if proven experience in the field)
Proven experience in content creation, social media management, and public relations.
Proficient use of video and image editing tools (including Canva)
Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
Proficiency in using content management systems (CMS) and social media platforms.
Knowledge of SEO best practices and web analytics tools.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Passion for women’s sports and an understanding of the football industry.
Valid drivers license.
