What the day will look like
As an Investment Associate Consultant you will act as a support consultant for medium to large clients, overseeing the day-to-day deliverables and managing client relationships. You will support with the delivery of advice predominantly to defined benefit pension schemes but also endowments, charities, and other institutional clients. Given the breadth of capability at Aon, you will be supported by a team of dedicated client-facing colleagues as well as expertise from our many specialist teams such as risk & modelling, investment manager research, asset allocation and more.
Your Day-to-day Focus Will Include
At Aon, the opportunity is much wider than just the local consulting team. You’ll quickly build a network across different offices, business areas and Aon teams, working with a variety of clients. With a persistently developing investment backdrop, we quickly allocate teams and dedicate resource to respond to market developments, providing a vast array of opportunities for consultants to specialise and create their own role within the business.
Aon has a wealth of market-leading specialists prepared to support you in your role, producing thought-provoking content and assisting with the delivery of bespoke advice to clients. There is a strong focus on sharing of ideas and working as a team within the UK investment team and more broadly across Aon. During each week there are multiple department wide video conference calls keeping consultants up to date on latest business results, ideas from specialist teams and opportunities for colleagues to put themselves forward to support new initiatives.

- Working with Lead and Support Consultants to build relationships with clients, as well as understand and solve the challenges they face
- Driving business results through efficient delivery of client service and connecting and working with colleagues across Aon’s specialist teams
- Identifying opportunities to innovate and drive efficiency
- Developing junior colleagues into future consultants
- Promoting an inclusive culture across Aon

- Strong experience of managing relationships with clients
- Excellent communication skills and ability to distil complex information
- Ability to manage small teams of colleagues and delegate effectively
- Knowledge of investment markets and UK pension schemes (preferred);
- A desire for new challenges!
