Your duties for this position:
  • Working with the Programme Lead for Substance Misuse and the senior management team for public health, this role will see you lead on the recommissioning of the substance misuse service, to ensure a needs-led approach to the service that is structured and co-produced with health partners.
  • As well as leading on the re-commissioning of services you will oversee existing service delivery, ensuring processes align with local needs and best practice.
  • As the Commissioning Manager you will oversee provider contract management, quality standards and compliance; engaging with key stakeholders to embed a service model that ensures service user voices shape future models of work.
Experience needed for this role:
  • The successful candidate will come from an established public health background within a local authority setting, having past experience on leading on commissioning teams and the recommissioning of public health service.
  • Ideally you will have substance misuse and/or drug and alcohol commissioning experience, in order to ensure that the service specification being delivered will meet the needs of the public, in line with national guidance.
  • Be a strong communicator with an understanding of other public sector organisations cultures, structures and policies.
  • Able to provide minimum two years worth of references.
