Head of Build:


The Head of Build is responsible for managing and co-ordinating the fabrication of all projects for Showblock.


This head of build role will be responsible for ensuring we meet our high profile clients build expectations, delivering on briefs for their structure fit out, whilst ensuring efficient and cost effective work is carried out.


You will be able to motivate a team of highly skilled tradespeople, and juggle a complex calendar from conception, build to on-site installation. You will be able to apply your experience in customer facing brand activations and event installations. You will be proficient in time and budget management, and bring high levels of enthusiasm with the ability to collaborative across multi skilled teams.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Assume overarching responsibility for all projects, overseeing all aspects of construction to client specification

  • Resourcing the freelance fabrication teams through all disciplines, primarily but not limited to carpentry, electricians, scenic and paint

  • Working with Production Managers to formulate the best methodologies for the physical fabrication of our clients designs

  • Identified the on site resource required and booking

  • Working with the Workshop Manager and Head of Production to oversee the fabrication of projects through the workshop and their installation on site

  • Scoping, creating and managing fabrication timelines in the workshop and flagging where challenges are in busy event season

  • Offering creative and technically sound solutions to project challenges

  • Ensuring all fabrication is carried out line with specific RAMS and general H&S legislation, and accompanying structural reports

  • Working with Production Managers to deliver on budget for builds, and flagging areas of concerns

  • Ensuring a positive and approachable environment within the workshop, guiding different skill levels with in team to achieve incredible results

  • Taking responsibility for quality control on structures and core stock items as they return to workshop
