As we grow our business, the Worldwide Public Sector (WWPS) UK National Security, Defence and Public Safety (NSDPS) team is seeking to hire a Strategic Engagement Manager to drive how the team engages with their customers at the most senior levels of government and give them the confidence, tooling and capability to deliver their Mission programs in the cloud.
The purpose of this role is to drive strategic engagement activities for AWS across the UK defence, national security and public safety sectors, coordinating with international colleagues on relevant cross-jurisdictional campaigns. Serving as a member of the UK NSDPS leadership team and reporting directly to the sector lead as an individual contributor. Working closely with colleagues across the NSDPS market verticals, as well as cross functional teams including PR, Public Policy and Marketing.

Key job responsibilities
- Driving a programme of senior external engagement activity across government, industry and academia in support of the Business Development activity of sales teams and BDMs.
- Maintaining strategic oversight and coordination of NSDPS team customer engagement activity market verticals through programme management of agreed stakeholder map.
- Forming and delivering senior executive briefing material including talking points and messaging in coordination with teams across AWS.
- Producing and promoting NSDPS thought leadership material in support of external promotional activity.
- Coordination of company input to, and engagement with, relevant official UK government consultations (eg Strategic Defence Review, Strategic Security Review).
- Representing AWS in defence and security committee meetings, think tank events, major UK and international summits, and senior executive briefings, deputising for the Director as required.
- Delivering NSDPS Special Projects including social value initiatives and dedicated promotional event activity in NSDPS sectors.
- Speechwriting activity for VP and Directors.
- Liaison with Public Policy to support effective senior policy and political engagement.
- Serving as team spokesperson for UK Defence, National Security and Public Safety issues, as required.

Basic Qualifications
- Experience in developing, negotiating and executing business agreements
- Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent military or professional experience
- Experience as a founder or executive focused on related segments, or as a practice leader or business unit owner
- Experience selling to Fortune 1000 or Global 2000 organizations
